Tropical Depression #9 has formed in the Atlantic and could become the 9th named storm of the season later today. The Southeastern states look like they will be in play next week.
Here's a
terrific overview from Accuweather, who remind us that the 9th storm of the season has a infamous history.
Do you remember?
Irene - 2011
Igor - 2010
Ike - 2008
Ivan - 2004
Isabel - 2003
Isadore - 2002
Iris - 2001
All of these storms were bad enough that the names have been "
retired".
